Desk Sharing & Pooling
Schall & Russo has worked closely with ICS as its
planning consultants on an array of physical planning
and operations projects. For one of ICS’s program
and office sites, Schall & Russo led a cross-department
team (Operations, IT, Care Management) charged with
planning and implementing ICS’s shift to using
hoteling and desk-sharing for some of its staff. The
desk-sharing and pooling solution was part of Schall
& Russo’s larger role for several projects:
- helped ICS leverage its on-line presence;
- helped ICS leadership and staff think about how
they work and want to work;
- facilitated conversations with key user groups
in order to develop space programs and space plans
that reflect the configuration, flow and mix of activities
in spaces;
- analyzed real estate development options and spaces
for more than 50,000 SF in the Bronx, Manhattan and
Brooklyn;
- assisted ICS with negotiating and securing sites;
- provided design management from schematics through
to construction documents;
- specified, tested out with users, ordered and oversaw
the installation of furnishings and equipment; and
- provided comprehensive project management through
move-in.
